The term Leading Edge is our brand statement for these events. The two Series are:

For Becoming a Right Person for Living System Life and Work; and
The Leading-Edge Practices, Processes & Tools Series
For Implementing Right Actions as a Right Person for Living System Life and Work
Why does the Isis Institute plan these two series of Leading-Edge events?
I answer this question in the following way:
The World Transformation to a new stage of human nature now in progress is responsible for fundamental transitions in effective leaders and the strategy, organization, operations and systems they use. Who previously have been the right persons for leadership are becoming more and more the wrong persons – And what have previously been the right means for them to lead and manage are becoming the wrong means for effective results – Even though the vast majority of them seem unaware of this situation.
The great competitive advantage today is to become aware of this situation in your own life and work and then to become one of the Right Persons for Leading Edge Living System leadership and finally to become expert in using Leading Edge Living System practices, processes and tools.
Specifically, conventional organizations structured as linear, machine like, functionally separated, pyramidal bureaucracies led and managed using the command-and-control model of management are no longer working effectively. A new Genre of more effective leaders is now beginning to emerge who are creating and operating organizations structured as living system networks whose nodes are collaborative units of business led and managed by interactive teams. Their customers and suppliers are integrated directly into the processes of the network’s business segments. Their organizations operate in harmony with their natural environments and even collaborate with businesses they previously considered as separate competitors. Such business networks demonstrate the properties of what we define as Living System organizations.
Isis Institute work flows from the wisdom of an ancient Chinese wise man who wrote:
If the wrong man uses the right means,
The right means will work in the wrong way.
Therefore, it is essential to first become a Living System leader humanly before it is possible to learn and effectively apply right means – Otherwise they would become right means that will work in the wrong way. These right means are Living System practices, processes and tools. They can be used effectively only by persons who are becoming Living System leaders.
There is a strong conventional drive to immediately try to apply every new method or tool independent of the human nature of the persons trying to use the new method or tool. It is important to emphasize that becoming a Right Person is the first step before trying to learn and use the Right Means.
The new Living System practices, processes and tools cannot be effectively applied directly on top of a conventional linear, machine system organization by leaders who use the conventional command-and-control pattern of management. This would be an example in action of a wrong person trying to use the right means that will work in the wrong way. I have also learned from experience that:
The wrong person will almost always choose
and try to use the wrong means,
That will than work in disastrous ways.
That is why the Isis Institute has two series of Leading-Edge events. Isis Institute work has two objectives we wish to accomplish in collaboration with leaders and their organizations:
First: To enable humans to become Right Persons
for the emerging Living System Life and Work, and
Second: To enable the Right Persons to use the Right Means
for the emerging Living System Life and Work
We envision that these series of Living System Seminar/Workshops will be developed and given first as live events and then edited and re-formatted for publication and internet download as text, videos and sound tracks.
